5 reasons I went back to blogging

1. Things in my life are back to a new normal

When I took a break from blogging my life felt like a bit of a mess. I was very stressed out at work and with other things and even the things I loved, like blogging, felt like a chore and at the moment it was just adding to the stress I felt, so I decided to take a little break. The little break turned out to become quite long, and it is not till now I feel like things are back to a point where blogging and writing is going to bring me the joy it used to.

I thought a lot about comming back many times during my hiatus, but I wanted to make sure I was really ready before returning, and here I am.

2. The lovely people

One of the things I missed the most during my, longer than planned, abcence was you. Yes you, the lovely people I met here on WordPress. I know I could have stayed on here reading and following without blogging myself, but that was not something I managed to do. I tried a few times when I felt like comming back, but I always ended up feeling a bit overwhelmed. And it did not feel the same as I did not feel like I was a part of things. A bit silly I know, but there you are.

And what really amazed me an nearly brought a tear to my eye is to see so many still around and that you remember me. Even after such a long break.

3. Writing

I do love to write and now that things have settled down somewhat I started to really miss having an outlet where I can write. Once I get properly up and going here again I will have to work on my hand writing again too. I had to write something down the other day and it has gotten quite awful.

4. Setting goals and feeling of achievement

One of the things that I have always enjoyed about blogging is that I can set small or bigger goals for myself here and working on my blog always gives me a sense of achievement that I don’t get, as easily, in other aspects of my life.

5. Just because

I don’t really have a good 5th reason, but as all good lists are either 3, 5, 7 or 10 things I had to add a number 5.

Hope your weekend is treating you well!

  1. It is good to see you back, Maja. I was a bit worried because people usually withdraw when things get rough. I also took a shorter break of 8 months for many of the same reasons. I don’t know that I could have done a blog at a younger age with work life taking so much time. I was hoping all was well with you as you had just fixed up your new home. I see you as a friend far away and this is our way of keeping in touch. Keep the notes coming. You were missed.

  2. Maja, stick with odd numbers, they are lucky. You added the fifth reason! Your photos are always welcomed. You don’t have to write long blogs. I’ve been remiss blogging too. Finishing up a book sequel to the debut book. And my old computer crashed, diagnosed hard drive corrupt by Tech2U computer repair. Back on track with new iMac computer & printer! Have a great weekend. 📚🎶 Christine

    1. Thank you Christine. My computer decided to die the same day I started blogging to. It is a pain, and I didn’t even have somthing as important as a book draft on it! Glad you are back up an running.

  3. This is our first meeting kind lady, but having been where you were it is in giving that love to yourself that eases its pain, let’s go that stress, so you can see again what it is you loved with a clearer vision. Good luck 🤗❤️🙏

  4. I understand you so perfectly. I also took a break from blogging because of all the stress and workloads from other areas. That even ended up causing me to stop writing. But I’m in a good place now and I believe I’m also ready to start writing again and blogging as well. All the best in your journey.

  5. yes, you only feel a part of things when you join in; I dropped out for a while and tried just reading other people’s post but I felt like … it didn’t feel ;like I was part of a community: — until I joined in —

  6. We always ask ourselves if we should stop blogging. But we didn’t and we can’t say why.
But we blog not that often anymore, only if we feel like. We have a lot of social obligations, we have an agent and publishers keeping Kb writing and helping Dina presenting her photos. There is actually no reason for blogging but we do it. It’s just one of the paradoxes of our life.

  7. It’s so good to know that you are well enough and secure enough now to enjoy blogging again. Your story feels so familiar to me! (And others, I bet.) I am about to take a break for a few months from my podcast, Learning How To Be Old, for similar reasons. It is normal for podcasts and TV shows to have “seasons” — so why not for blogs too? We all need time to step back and think and refresh. Enjoy your new season. I know your readers will.
