Bryggen in Bergen
I decided to spend some of my vacation on going on a road-trip to Bergen. The second largest city in Norway, where I went to university. I stayed with good friends and seeing as I had a first timer with me there we we’re being tourists.
Old houses from the Hanseatic days
Bergen is quite known for their rain and we had a bit of it, but it didn’t turn out so bad for our first full day. We had a bit or rain, but nothing too heavy. Weather was way worse today!
Old marked place
We had a great time meeting up with friends and very much enjoyed walking around in Bergen, seeing my old house and uni.
We did the tour of the town, and especialy the famous and I should have gotten more photos, but they didn’t turn out so nice.

Nice Bonfire by the sea
Yesterday we had our mid-summer celebration here by our summer house. The weather was lovely and spirit high. We started in the morning by cleaning the beach, cutting the grass near the beach and carrying things to burn on the bonfire.
Sun Starting to Set
During the day there was a fishing contest and evening there was a treasure hunt for the kids. And then there was the lighting of the bonfire. After eating lovely food of freshly caught crab as a starter and a wonderful barbequed beef for a main ending with ice cream bought from the ice cream van that dropped in.
Sun Set Advancing
All the people from the summer houses nearby was gathered down by the bonfire and we sat there enjoing the sunset, each others company and something nice in our glases.

Enjoying my holiday in our summer house. The weather is very changing and we’ve had both sunshine and rain. But the temperature has been pleasant the whole time. Today the rain is pouring down. But I will still be sure to get at least one good walk in.
Sunny Evening on the Terace
I’m staying here for a few more days before I head out to visit good friends in Bergen. I’m very much looking forward to spending some time there and revisit the town I spent five years in. And a road-trip is always good fun.
Yesterday was mid-summer and we will have our celebration this Saturday with a bonfire and barbeque weather permitting. From now on the evenings will start going darker rather than brighter, but last night was the brightest evening of the year.
Water lillys in the lake
My holiday has started and so far it’s very good. Weather is not the best, but it’s nice enough.
A very small boat on shore
Here are some things I’ve been doing:
Lazy mornings with great breakfast
Eat self picked strawberries
Football on tv
Had great food
Met this on one of my walks
I’m very happy that I have much more time here and that we’re still at the beginning of what could turn out to be a great summer.

Tomorrow is my last day at work before I take a two week holiday. I don’t have much planned, but if the weather is nice I will spend most of the time at our summer house. I’m looking forward to spending some time there and I really look forward to having a break. Even if I enjoy my job I must admit that it’s going to be nice to get a two week break from it. And I will hopefully come back more refreshed and ready to start my tasks again.
Last year the weather was not the best, but this year I’m hoping the nice weather we’ve been getting will last all summer. At the very least untill my holidays are over. But if it’s not that nice at least I saved a week for going to Crete in September.
Weather is lovely
The weather continues to help me on my goal of getting more fit. It’s so nice to walk or stroll around soaking up all the vitamin D’s the sunshine gives you. Hopefully we’ll get a nice summer and my new regime won’t collapse when the challenge at work ends in a little while. But it’s not long untill I have a few weeks off work to relax and go for long walks at the summer house.
This weekend some lovely people arranged the bloggers bash. I’ve been reading some nice posts and I’m hoping I get a chance to go visit next year! Check out the winners blogs if you have a spare moment there are many good ones that deserve to be read. Sacha has them all on her blog https://sachablack.co.uk/2016/06/11/and-the-winners-of-the-bloggersbash-awards-2016-are/
Farmer Street Art
This week I played my last concert with my band. The concert was great and there was quite a lot of people there. It was held in a small town in the country side. Right next to the concerts venue there was a very large piece of street art of a farmer.
Next year I’m going to play with a different band that rehers a lot closer to where I live.
