The last week the weather has been amazing here in Norway, and this is turning out to be one of the best summer in a very long time. I’ve been spending much of my time after work and last sunday taking advantage of the heat and sun and gone swimming in the sea several places.
Went to Sola Beach, a nice sandy beach close to the airport and spent a lovely day swimming, sun bathing, reading and building a sandcastle.
After work on monday I decided to take a little walk to a nearby beach called Rosenli. And on tuesday I went a bit further to Godalen to cool myself down in the sea. And I certainly was not alone in thinking that this was a good idea.
On Wednesday my day called and asked me if I wanted to go on a boat trip. I was quite happy to and it was a very nice trip.
We anchored up and went swimming from the sun deck on the boat! Lovely way to spend the summer. The memories of these things are what we will be feeding of when it gets, darker and colder.
Sun starting to set.
After I came home from my trip to Ireland I went to relax at my family’s summer house. As I have mentioned before this place is a place I can come to relax and no matter how stressed I am I always know I can come here to find some peace of mind. This time the weather was amazing. It was way to warm to stay at the terrace most days, so we had to take the boat out and go out to sea to find a small breeze.
Nice view at boat trip
Sitting in a boat with a lovely view, bringing nice food and drinks, stopping at nice secluded spots to have a bath and stopping at nice little places for ice cream is really not the worst way to spend your day.
In the evenings we went fishing and I sat out enjoying my books and the lovely view from our terrace.
A lovely sunset
My last day there was the only one that was a bit overcast. But it was still nice and warm. We had visitors and spent the day at the local beach searching for crabs and small fishes. I was sad to leave, but luckily the good weather continued when I came home and is supposed to continue for quite som time still.
Overcast but warm, last day.
The last stop on my trip to Ireland was Dublin. I have visited this city once before and found it a great city. This time around I didn’t have not much time in the capital, but I enjoyed the time I had. We stayed in a castle called Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel.

We took a hop-on-hop-off buss trip around the city and stopped to go to the Guinness storehouse, which is something I would really recomend.
Guinness Storehouse tour
The tour was very interesting and the view from the bar at the top was really amazing!

This view was enjoyed with a fresh pint of Guinness.
The rest of the trip was mostly used to do a bit of shopping and meeting even more lovely people.
When I was in Ireland I stayed a little while in the little town of Tuam. This town is known for it’s two cathedrals, a catholic one and a protestant one. I found Tuam to be a wonderful and cute little town and it’s people was very friendly. Tuam has been in the news lately after they found the bodies of many babies outside the “mother and child home”.

We went to see the old ruins of St. Jarlath’s, the patron saint of Tuam, temple and the old graveyard.

We also went to se the protestant church, St. Mary. As it was a Sunday and mass was just over we were allowed to go in and have a look at this beautiful cathedral.

Went for a holiday to Ireland and just got back. The trip was amazing 🙂 I met a lot of friendly people, had tons of fun, shopped a little and got to se some beautiful places One of the places I went to was Galway. First day the weather was overcast and there was a bit of rain, but being Norwegian I did not mind. Went for a lovely boat trip with the Corrib Princess.

The next day the weather was much better andGalway was showing us her best side.

We also went to enjoy the sunshine at a beautiful beach right outside of Galway city centre, Silver Strand.
Galway is a city with a lot of students and is also famous for it’s nightlife. And I must say it did not disapoint!
