There are many good bloggers nominated. Vote and maybe go visit some of the nominees!
This is it. The waiting is finally over.
The Bloggers Bash Awards are now open for voting.
We had a HUGE number of nominations, over 350, so thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate.
Voting Closes June 9th at 12pm. The winners will be announced on June 11th at the Bash. If you can’t make it then a winners post will go live at 5:15pm on June 11th.
Choose carefully, you can only vote ONCE per category. There are 10 awards, (so it’s a long post) make sure you vote in them all.
Good luck to all the nominees.
Disclaimer: The committee has done their best to coordinate the nominations and to ensure, where possible, we gave nominees a choice of which category they wanted to be in. Due to time constraints and limited resources this may not have always been possible.

The 17th of May is Norway’s Constitution day. We celebrate this by putting on our nice clothes or our traditional bunad. There are Norwegian flags everywhere and everything is decorated in red, white and blue (the colors of our flag). This is mostly a day for the kids, with parades, games, ice creams and hot dogs and much much more.
As I play in a brass band this day is spent playing in various parades. This year the number is 5 parades. This make it a rather busy day for me and coming home there is usually not one part of my body that doesn’t hurt. But seeing all the happy faces makes it worth it. And if I have any energy or ability to move I can squeeze in a little celebration when I finally come home! After all it’s Norway’s birthday!
Short sum up of the history: Norway was first under Danish rule for quite some time, but 17th of May 1814 we got a constitution. Granted there was a war and we were given to Sweden after this, but we still had our own constitution. written by some of the greatest minds of the day (just men as women was not allowed to even vote before 1913) in a building in the small town of Eidsvoll. In 1905 the Swedes decided that most of Norway wanted the union with them,so they let us have a referendum. They were very wrong, Norway voted for independence and the constitution was stronger than ever.
I’ve had an amazing couple of days. Since my last post i’ve been on a wonderful concert, met up with great friends for barbecue, drinks and great food.
The weather decided that we would get a week of early summer temperatures. This has made it very easy to get out walking even if it’s been quite hot at times.
I’ve stayed close to water most of the time. And have done a bit of wading in the water to cool off my tired warm feet.
It’s not warm in the water yet, but there was quite a lot of kids out playing in the sea!
Today was a day off work for Assention day. So we decided to go walking in the lovely nature not not to far away from town. We went to a waterfall called Månafossen. The weather and the walk was lovely.
Now I’m soon off to dinner with friends and off to a concert. This is just a great day! Hope you’re enjoying as much as me.
