December weekend

Another work week has gone by in the blink of an eye. I feel like it was only just the weekend a day or so ago, but it turns out it is time for one again. I am not going to complain about that. This week I sorted out most of the Christmas cards, had the last rehearsals before our Christmas concert this Sunday, had a few appointments, went to visit a friend to drop off a belated birthday gift and some gifts for Christmas and did a St. Lucy’s day breakfast at daycare. And a few more little things to get things ready for Christmas.

This weekend it’s another birthday party with family on Saturday and Sunday I have the above-mentioned concert with my band. I have already started getting in the Christmas spirit and I have a feeling this might help lift i even more. I started this weekend by watching the Grinch movie, the cartoon edition. I am ashamed to say that this is the first Christmas movie I have seen this year. But hopefully it is not the last. But I have come to terms with the fact that I probably won’t be watching a full movie in one go.

The snow and frost we had earlier this week has been replaced by rain, but we might get colder weather again before Christmas. But the prices of electricity were getting very high, so it getting a bit warmer again will at least help with that.

  1. Everything costs too much, Maja, it did before the pandemic and now the inflation is even higher here. No excuse for this. Wishing you a wonderful weekend! 😊❤️

  2. I am sure Christmas is quite different with Ickle Pickle around. We are not long home from the West Coast and while there we had a gathering with the whole family including our grand baby (now toddler). We did a combo of birthday and Christmas gifts and it was so much more fun with a wide eyed little one. Happy weekend. Allan

    1. Thank you Allan, she is mostly happy with having so much happening and all the parties. The boxes are better than most prezzies. So nice you got to see the little family members. Happy weekend

    1. My weekend was good, we stayed warm and due to all the rain and wind the prices of electricity are back down at a good level. Hope your weekend was a good one too

  3. Another victim of the Nov’Dec time warp speed phenomena. I know time speeds up in those two months since we have more to do than usual. I rarely watch a movie in one sitting either. It’s not a good idea to sit still for two hours anyway. That’s why we have children. 😉 They keep us moving. We have had unusually cold, then warm then … back and forth. I rarely turn on heat because I’m situated on the interior of a building that keeps my place quite toasty. It’s the summer that kills my electric bill. Stay cozy and enjoy the fun.
