Light show and jubilee

Yesterday we went in to town to take part in the opening festival of our towns 900 years jubilee. We went in a little early to enjoy a delicious pizza and meet up with some acquaintances before going out to see the light sculptures that was being lit.

There are many different light sculptures that are to brighten up the skies till the 2nd of february. There were lights, a concert and free hot chocolate for the children, a lot of other music and dance preformances. There were also some activities for kids. And what looked like at least half the population of the town (140 000 ish in total).

We did enjoy the light show and had a very good evening out and as this was for both the kids and adults we were home just over six. And that was perfect both for Ickle Pickle and us,

Today I should have been tidying, but it is very hard to find the motivation. But I made some Shepherd’s pie for dinner. As we had tacos at my mother’s house on friday we invited her over here today. Hopefully I will get some tidying done at some stage too. At least the washing machine and dishwasher are doing their bit.

Who knows maybe the inspiration to do more chores around the house will magicaly appear before bedtime, but I did have the kitchen clean and tidy for making food, so there is that.

How is your weekend ending ?

  1. 900 years is a big deal! Glad they figured out some way to celebrate that. I don’t go out at night very often but that could draw me out of my quiet cocoon. I’ll let you in on a secret. After almost 77 years, most of which were spent keeping a pristine home, I’ve found that if it’s clean enough to be healthy and safe, let go of the rest. Doing the fun things is always more important. I have a sign that says, “creative people don’t have a mess, they have ideas laying everywhere.” If you are coming to see my home, make an appointment. If you are coming to see me, you are welcome anytime. You are doing so much already. Working full time, taking care of a small child and family. It’s ok to let some things go. Be kind to yourself. It will get done when it gets done. 🙂

    1. Thank you for your kind words Marlene and you are so right! Takes a lot to get me out of my home at night luckilly this was from around 17:00 to 18:00 so I was back inside my warm house before it was too late and too cold. And we don’t live that far away. This was the first in many events that are planned all year, I am sure we will catch some and miss others, but it is a good thing to celeberate.
