Writing September

So, as many of you may have noticed my post have been a bit sporadic lately. I have a lot to share and my list of drafts are getting really long. But as you all know eveyday always happens and it is not always easy to prioritize doing things that you don’t need to do even if they are the things that brings you joy. For me blogging is one of those things, that gives me joy, but that I don’t always prioritize when other things happen.

I have decided to make September a month where I get a little up to speed on my writing and want to have a lovely blogging month. I have a goal to post at least 25 posts during this month and write 5000 words. To me this seem quite ambitious, but it seems like a good way to challenge myself and I really like to do that from time to time. I am not going to beat myself up if I don’t manage to make my goal, but as I have seen in the past it usually gives me motivation. And putting it top of mind usually helps with the inspiration.

I hope that September will bring many good things for us all. And that autumn brings many nice and cosy evenings with candles and a warm cup of tea or a glass of wine or whatever it is you like to drink (let’s hope it won’t have to be Lemsip). I hope the weather will be nice autumn weather and not just rain and storms (and I would not say no to a little bit of an Indian Summer). For me there are may things that are happening, but I think most of them will be good and give more energy than they take.

Do you have a challenge for yourself this month? Tell me about it or share a post you have done about it. I love to read about how others challenge themselves.

  1. I hope you obtain your blogging goals this month, Maja! I generally post three times per day or less, being retired helps with the time factor. Have a wonderful new week, Maja! ❤️😊

  2. Blogging can take up a lot of time, Maja, but it is not as important as the Little One or enjoying your summer with family and friends. Take the time to do what you need to do and set an achievable blogging goal within any time remaining. If that is only one post a week, that is what it is. We’ll be here when the posts start to land. No worries. There may come a time shortly when I have to drop from daily to weekly posts for a bit so I can concentrate on relaxing and visiting. I will have to see how that all works. Have a great week. Allan

  3. I don’t have a challenge yet, but I’ll think of something. I think our focus will be our first grand child who will be born in September. Regarding … “I have a goal to post at least 25 posts during this month and write 5000 words…..” I think that is a great challenge and I wish you good luck with it.

Here in north Texas the weather in September and October can be both very hot and a bit cooler and stormy. October 20 2019 our neighborhood was destroyed by a tornado. We were lucky, our house stood, but it cost $50,000.00 to repair (roof, chimney, fence, garagedoor, attic and wiring, the outside grill blew away). Tonight we are having a flashflood.

  4. I don’t have a challenge when it comes to blogging. But my challenge in real life starting this month hopefully if my operation still goes ahead will be long term because things will start to happen hopefully in the comming months and years ahead from when I have my cochlear implant operation on Friday, to then switch on at some point some weeks later. Then the work starts from then in learning to hear again in my right ear.
I will of course blog about it when I am back to blogging.
I have other posts mounting up in my drafts too. But that’s for when I am back to blogging too. Whenever that will be as I am still on hiatus.
    Enjoy your blogging challenge.

  5. I think I’ll continue to post daily here this month and forward. That’s my goal. And here, no autumn, but wet season. Still, I enjoyed it. Now, the rain is pouring so heavily, but thank God, we’re safe. All the best, masgautsen

  6. Great picture 👍 👍
We believe that many bloggers confuse quality with quantity. We are extremely sceptical of bloggers who blog constantly. You can’t produce a high-quality blog f.e. daily – but, of course, that’s what WordPress want you to do.
    All the best

  7. I love this. I’m a big believer in challenging ourselves. Mine aren’t monthly or weekly, but more like trying to accomplish something in its own time. I am trying to write a truly evil character right now, and it’s a challenge. He has no deadline, but he is testing my skills and creativity.

  8. I’m trying to post more regularly as well lately. I’m a teacher, so I’m trying to get it all in before my students all come back in a flood for the Fall. Best of luck to you in getting back into blogging.

  9. I’ve been where you are so often and life always, always changes my plans. When you have children, they are always first on the list, the rest of the family comes next. We forget to prioritize ourselves even before the children and can run out of energy faster than they do. You also have a full time job. I do have a challenge for each and every day and it is to do one thing. Only one. If two get done, celebrate the one leading to two. There is no blogging police. If I get one a month out or every two months, I’m grateful for the time to connect. My challenges are more in other creative areas so I have something to write about. You do know you have 6 plates spinning on one finger, right? We ALL understand. Hugs.

    1. Thank you for your kind words Marlene. This challenge is something I do for me and I am enjoying it so far. Life might get in the way, but there is nothing I can do about that, so I am not going to beat myself up about it.

  10. Good luck with your blogging challenge. Must admit I don’t post as much as I used to years ago. I still love it but find it harder to make the time. So much to write about though! Hope you have a great September. 🙂
