I managed to fill Diesel on my petrol car…. felt like an idiot both waiting for the road service and when I had to get a lift to the garage.
Let’s hope that I am done with the blondie moments for this month. At least for the week.
Hopefully the garage can fix it tomorrow. I did not start the thing after so it should be fixable.

Oh no I always have that fear! Hopefully all will be good.
It will probably be a bit expensive, but hopefully fixable
Yikes. I am always worrying about that when I fuel up at a pump that also dispenses diesel. Fingers crossed it all works out Maja. Allan
Just got a message from garage that car could be picked up 🙂
Yay. 🚗
Oh no! 😅 We’ve all had those moments—at least you caught it in time. Here’s to smoother drives and zero mix-ups for the rest of the month!”
Thank you, I need it!
Thank you for your like. Kindly read my entire post (blog) each time, as that will be a great help to me. If you also leave a comment in the blog’s comment box, I would be even more grateful to you.
Oh no!! I didn’t know the Gosselin
Autocorrect kept changing nozzle, this time it chose Gosselin! And in correcting, I hit send! Anyway, I didn’t know diesel nozzle would fit into a petrol tank! Sounds expensive. Maggie
Aparently it did. The tow truck seemed to think it shouldn’t work, but I managed. At least it is fixed now
Hope it all turns out OK…with so many options at the pump, it’s easy to grab the wrong one!
Thank you, it was a complete blondie moment at a gas station I don’t usually go to…
But it did turn out ok!
Glad to hear!
Good luck
Thank you, it’s fixed now 🙂
Wow, i hope your car can be repaired, Maja! Our diesel pumps have a larger nozzle that won’t go into the filler hole, can’t put diesel in a petrol car.
The nozzle was aparently larger, but not large enough…. Car is fixed and good to go, luckily!
Wow, that’s great Maja!! 🙏🏻😊
So sorry. I hope it can be repaired and not cost a lot. Hugs
Thank you, it has been fixed and it was expensive enough, but I thought it would have been worse
I am glad it was fixable.
Me too!
Ouch! Hope it all works out well.
Thank you, it was fixed 🙂
I’ve done that mistake too, in Sweden. I have to admit , it is a bit embarrassing, but to the defense of Norwegians and Swedes, the diesel gas station pump nozzle fit into the fuel filler opening of gasoline-powered vehicles in Sweden and Norway. In the United States the larger diesel gas station pump nozzle is designed to prevent it from fitting into the smaller fuel filler opening of a gasoline-powered vehicle. In other words, it is an easy mistake to make in Sweden and Norway but in the US, you can’t make that mistake. I should say that in my case the car engine needed a clean but after that it worked fine.
It is nice knowing you are not alone. Car needed emptying and is back to normal functunig now! Mostly embarassement and a little out of pocket, so no lasting harm
Yes and we are certainly not the first ones. That’s why they made sure you can’t make that mistake here in the US. It is great to hear that your car was fine, but since you did not drive that is expected. I drove mine (a Volvo Amazon) and as soon as I saw the blue-black smoke I stopped. My car needed to have to engine opened up and cleaned, but the engine was fine. If I had driven it much further it might not have been fine.
Glad to hear it worked out ok. Sounds very expensive!
If I had kept driving much further I could have led to a seized engine. However, that was not the case. The engine still worked and it was just a few components that needed to be cleaned. It wasn’t too bad.
Glad to hear 🙂
We have a bigger nozzle for diesel here, but a guy I worked with put gasoline in his diesel vehicle which apparently is not good either.
No, I think it is quite bad either way. Luckily I didn’t start the engine so it worked out ok.
Which car is this
Toyota Auris 🙂
I hope to hear the results of that situation. Keeping my fingers crossed for good luck for you.
It worked out ok. The garage fixed it and all is good
