The sky has been amazing here the last days. The cold crisp winter air has helped put me in the right mood for Christmas. There has even been sightings of aurora borealis close by, and that is quite unusual this far south.
The down side of this is that that there is quite a lot of icy on the ground making it very slipery.
I haven’t seen the sky in weeks. I’m jealous.
It’s very nice and I enjoy it while the clouds stay away! Hope you’re doing well!
We don’t see the Aurora Borealis here, but our winter skies are pretty great too. From fiery orange and red sunsets that cover the entire horizon, to pastel blues and pinks at sunrise, every day different. And the night skies are so crisp and clear, it’s like you touch the stars. Skies that are unique to this season.
That sounds wonderful! You describe it so beautifully!
Thanks! I’m no fan of winter in general, but those skies are certainly one good thing about it. π
I’m with you!
We are still experiencing short sleeve weather here, so a white Christmas is unlikely, but I know cooler air is coming.
At least you don’t have to worry about falling on the ice breaking something before Christmas!
It looks very pretty!
Thank you! I think so too.
Lucky you to witness aurora borealis! π Is it still unusually mild weather for you? I would have expected lots of snow. Here in the UK it is expected to hit 17 degrees – crazy warm and the poor bulbs are confused with some even flowering! Be careful careful on the ice.
It’s not unusually mild here. We have the same temeprtures we normally would have. This time of year we have between 10 and -5.
I particularly love the pink hues that accompany the evening skies at this time of year.
Me to, they look lovely!
:o)
I love winter. Because I can stay in and cozy most of the time. I don’t have to worry about going to work or slipping on ice. We are experiencing an exceptionally mild winter with lots and lots of rain. (much needed). When the clouds go away and it dries out, it gets cold. I would absolutely love to see the aurora just once in my life. Have to settle for seeing it on TV. π¦ Cold weather does make one feel more ready for Christmas though. π Enjoy.
It’s back to warmer weather and rain here. It’s nice to stay Indoors! The Aurora Borealis is truely a sight to see. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!
We have had quite the cold snap here also and it feels like winter. Nice change but I already yearn for warmer days!
We now have the cold back and there was a little snow yesterday.
