As I wrote in my previous post, yesterday was the day I got one year older. The day came with the coldest weather we have had in a while, but luckily no rain. I started the day by getting up and making the dough for a batch of buns. Then I made a nice egg and bacon breakfast, before making the rest of the buns.
My other half and I did a few tasks around the house while I was chatting on the phone with friends and family. And then my cousin and her kids came over to celebrate the day, social distancing style. We had sat up some tables and chairs in the garden, making sure we did not sit too close to those who we don’t live in the same house as. I opened my window in to the kitchen and made a little kiosk where the two kids could order their choice of ice cream and soda. And the got some buns. They stayed for a little while and chatted, and the sun came out for a few minutes to make sure we did not get to cold.
After they left I had some time to reply to all the lovely comments I got with good wishes for my birthday both on WP and on Facebook. After that I brought some buns and take away up to my mother and I got even more presents. On the way home I stopped by my grandfather’s apartment and dropped off some buns for him as well. Just because we can’t hang out with him doesn’t mean we can’t give him some treats.
So all in all my birthday weekend turned out quite good even with all the restrictions that come with the Corona Virus. Hope you all had a weekend that lived up to your expectations. Thank you for all your well wishes yesterday. Stay safe.
