I had a really good day on my birthday yesterday. The weather was sunny if a bit cold. I started the day by getting some good news at work. I had a lot of my colleagues wish me a happy birthday; the lunch served was a very tasty pesto pasta dish. And things just seemed to run smoothly all day.
I left work a little early and went to get some ice cream and some chocolate dipped strawberries. I ate the ice cream and saved the berries for later. I had a good stroll home and when I got in the door, my other half was waiting there for me with some pink roses. We did a little walk down to the old apartment to collect some things, but apart from that we took the day off.
We ordered some lovely tapas and enjoyed a bottle of bubbles and the wonderful chocolate dipped strawberries. The champagne glasses were packed down in a box somewhere so some of our small beer glasses had to do. But we still enjoyed food and drink while watching Thunder Force on Netflix. If you are looking for a silly movie that is easy entertainment, but quite fun to watch, I can recommend it.
All day I was receiving nice well wishes from family and friends in so many channels, like from my lovely readers of the blog. This really ensured that it was a very nice and special day for me. Thank you for contributing to it! Turns out, once again, that even if I was born on the same day as the Chernobyl accident, the day is not just filled with tragedy.
I went to bed very tired, but also very happy from the lovely day. Today it is back to work on clearing and cleaning the old apartment. I will be very gland once it is over and I can just focus on the one place. But there is still a week of cleaning left before that happens. To top it of I forgot my computer at home today and had to go back for it, so my morning walk was a lot longer than planned.
