The key to our old place is now handed over and we only have one house to focus on. The relief of the handover and all the things that have been happening both at work and at home has left me quite tired, so we decided to make this week a little more quiet. To focus on work, relax and try to think of all the things we have probably missed these last weeks. And trust me that is quite a few things.
Monday I was so tired that I had a nap in the afternoon, but I still went early to bed that evening and slept solidly the whole night. It was much needed. And made me realize that a quiet week really is necessary. If I keep burning the candle in both ends I will eventually burn out and I really don’t want that to happen.

And both Tuseday and yesterday I had to go to sleep early and was very tired. I could also feel my fuse getting a bit short.
Next week I have a little holiday with a couple of days of and I will focus on both progressing with the work in the new house but also take a few days where I will focus on relaxing and gathering new energy so that I have more to give on a later occasion.

I do feel like I caught the stress early this time and I am doing my best to make sure that I push myself enough that I grow, but not so much that I give in to the stress and end up injuring myself or burning myself out. But that is the thing with stress, most often you do not catch how bad it is before it is too late.
What do you do to relax in stressful periods? I like to sleep, eat good food and go for long walks in fresh air.

I hope you will find time to recharge and be well, Maja. 😊
Thank you I hope I will!
I understand the stress and the burnout. I’m working on how to mitigate that myself. It will be so nice when we can hand over the keys to our old house.
It is was a big relief for me at least!
God luck to you!
Thank you.
You have had so much going on both personally and professionally – I try to take walks or hikes regularly to clear away all of that pressure and appreciate the fresh air…I also get to cook most days and I find that a great stress reliever as well…bravo to you on getting the handover done!
Thank you. I do like to go for a hike and the half hour walk to work and back is wonderful!
Glad you can now relax. Stay well and enjoy your weekend. Allan
Thank you and the same to you Allan!
Congratulations!! May your new home be a source of comfort and relaxation.
Thank you very much, I think it will!
You are one smart woman! Not everyone would realize that you can’t keep doing that without it taking it’s tole. I do exactly what you are doing. Sleep comes first then a good walk followed by some healthy food. We all have those times where we have more to do than hours in a day but then we have to dial back and build ourselves back up. You have a smart plan there. The work can wait but joy needs to be felt now. Stress does more damage than most recognize. So happy you are down to one place to work on now. Enjoy the journey.
Thank you Marlene! I am having a slow, relaxing week, and enjoying every small acomplishment…
When I’m stressed I like to read a light book and a cup of tea. I’m also fond of this lavender neck wrap that I put in the microwave for 90 seconds. It allows me to chill
Thank you those are very good things to do to help with relaxation.
Think you ways to cope with stress are the best medicine Maja. It should all be plain sailing now you’ve just got one home to focus on. Hope you have a good weekend!
Thank you and a Very good weekend to you too!
If I get the chance, I prefer to go camping. Mountain air and nature sounds are kind of healing. Congratulations on your closings.
I would agree with you on that, the fresh air also tends to give me a better sleep! Hope your weekend will be a good one!
I get this – it’s easy to burn the candle at both ends. When I hit a wall, the best thing for me is rest, just like you have said. Take care!
Thank you, I will. Have a great weekend.
You said it all … “I was so tired that I had a nap in the afternoon, but I still went early to bed that evening and slept solidly the whole night. It was much needed. And made me realize that a quiet week really is necessary. If I keep burning the candle in both ends I will eventually burn out.“
Most of us are guilty of overworking and stressing. Lord help us all.
When I get to that point, I dedicate myself to uninterrupted 2 days of total rest; just eat and rest; exercise comes in about the 2nd or 3rd day. The key is to listen to our body and not to allow ourselves to get to that point of exhaustion. Glad you took that needed rest.
Thank you, I needed the change of pace now and I’m feeling more and more relaxed every day. Hope your weekend will be a good one!
Hope yours too masgsutsen. Thank you.
Thank you!
I hope you will recover your energy
And back again with the same energy you had.
I am also same as you . I like to sleep first and then listen to good music , have good food or have a great family time
Thank you, I hope so too. Hope you have a good weekend
Same to you
For me, going to visit my retired friends and going for walks with a little movie watching works well. Also catching up on sleep. I am getting old enough that I cannot maintain a high energy level for very long. I should be retired, but made some less than ideal life choices long ago. Glad you recognize the need to recharge now and then.
Sounds like a good way of relaxing! Hope your weekend is treating you well.
Hope you are relaxing and recovering the energy. 💜
Thank you, I am doing my best to!
Thank you for sharing!
I like to write, go on my treadmill, listen to relaxing music, and walk with my dog! Glad you caught the stress early on! Xoxo
Apart from the treadmill, I think these are very good things. And that is just because treadmills stress me 😉
