Vacationing

On Friday I had a few errands I needed to run. And so did everyone else, by the looks of things. The queues were really long everywhere, Covid social distancing rules of course make them longer than normal even if there is not to many people queuing, but it still took a lot longer than I had hoped. I did manage to sit down to enjoy a carrot cupcake and a coffee, because it is important to enjoy oneself on vacation.

I did not get all my errands in due to not bothering to queue for parking so I went home to make a little stir fry for dinner and then went for a lovely walk in the overcast weather before we enjoyed a lazy evening on the couch.

Saturday, I started the day with a lovely omelette for breakfast and then going for a walk. My other half had some things to fix in the house that meant that I would only be in his way if I stayed, so I did the errands that I had postponed the day before. And I had a nice chicken salad while looking at all the people around shopping.

Afterwards I helped cut some boards for a wall that we are fixing in the basement living room before spending the evening on the couch again watching Netflix, eating again, we had pizza, crisps and chocolate.

Today I started my day by getting myself breakfast in bed listening to podcasts and blogging. As today is the day before Constitution day I have a few things to prepare for tomorrow. I will be visiting my mother and helping her with a few little things and borrowing her washing machine as we can’t use ours yet because we are waiting for a plumber. Hopefully today will be a little bit more productive than yesterday.

How is your weekend treating you?

  1. Glad your weekend is going well. Work and R & R make a nice combo. I did my yardwork on Friday and a bit of repair yesterday. Other than that, a nice walk and a Skype visit with the kids. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Allan

  2. The omelet looks so delicious, Maja! A good weekend in progress here, got home from Michigan and seeing my family after a year!

  3. Looks like a good start to a nice vacation. Weekend plans are the same as yours. Work a little, enjoy a little, run a few errands and watch a bit of TV later. Most days are the same mix for me. I don’t have to go to work. πŸ˜‰ You are a good daughter to help your mother. I have a good daughter too. πŸ™‚

  4. We had a busy weekend. We sorted out parts of our library which took us two full days. We desperately needed space for new books. We got rid of about 300 books but, oh dear, we hardly could see gaps but there not books on books or in front of books anymore. We always find it hard to get rid of books although it has to be. We collect all these books for a book fair we run for our community.
Wishing you a wonderful week. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Sounds like you’re enjoying your vacation. That’s great.
My weekend was quiet on Saturday – cleaning house and I enjoyed Sunday watching basketball all day. So fun.
