November again

Just like that and another month is gone. October was busy and I feel like I am still adjusting to being back at work and band. And there has been a lot to prepare for the competition this Saturday, including hosting another concert on Wednesday. There always is, but it is a little different when I no longer only need to focus on me. But it was also a good month with many nice things happening, it brough me more joy than stress, so in the end I feel it has been worth taking up my hobby again.

I got myself a cupcake after playing a concert

Yesterday was Halloween and I was looking forward to being visited by some scary and cute kids looking for candy, but this year we only had one coming to our door. Our house doesn’t have the door facing the street, so that might be the reason for the lack of visitors, but other years we have had a few. It was a little disappointing, because it would have been nice for Ickle Pickle to see a lot of dressed up kids coming. And now we have a lot of candy that needs eating up. I think we both might get diabetes if we eat it all ourselves, so we might have to find someone to donate it to. There were a lot of people out trick or treating, so I did get to see a lot of kids in costumes when I went out for groceries after the little one had gone to sleep.

Seems nobody wanted my candy this year

The forecast for November is that things are going to stay busy, but there will be a lot of fun. I have the competition coming up this weekend. There are a few birthdays in the family this month and we’re going for a trip to visit friends and relatives in Ireland to see them once more before Christmas. At the moment I am working on getting some Christmas and birthday gifts ready. I am hoping to get most of my Christmas shopping done in Ireland. But I know there will be some that I will have to sort when I get home as well. I am also looking forward to going out with some of my friends that I rarely see, for a long-planned dinner.

How about you, how has your October been and do you have any plans for November?

  1. Well, my plans for november are probably eating all the candy left from St. Martin (Sint Maarten in my language). On the 11the of november children are coming by the doors with lampoons, singing a song and colleting sweets, very simular to Halloween. Cunningly I buy sweets that I like myself, and secretly I hope there will be left overs. But first I have to hide my scale. 🙂

  2. October went by in a blur. Now, we are in the month of family birthdays and then it will be Christmas. We are busy dog sitting or grand fur baby and hope to be home in early December. Happy Friday. Allan

  3. October went by way too fast! I never get trick or treaters nor do my neighbors. I live in an HOA, or Home Owners Association. Maybe this is why, not sure. I have Type 2 Diabetes, you don’t want this disease. 🫣

    1. I know, my great grandmother, my grandpa, my uncle and dad all had diabetes and I do not show any signs yet so I keep my fingers crossed. Most of the candy will be donated

  4. As with you, October flew by, and the next two months will as well! I love that you are planning for holiday gifts – helps to avoid the last minute rush – my wife and I are going to Tokyo and Kyoto in three weeks and I plan to buy a lot of holiday gifts there! Hope you have a great time Saturday performing!

      1. I agree, the pressure to find something at the last minute is the worst – so I am following your lead and getting it done now, plus there are cool things in Japan that will be unique!

  5. October really did fly by so fast. I had a lot of plans for it, none of which really worked out. So, I’m going to not make any plans for November and just see how it goes lol.

  6. Yes you may get diabetus if you eat that entire bucket. We have left overs too but not as much. While I was still working I used to take the left over candy to work to give my coworkers diabetes. I am looking forward to our son and his girlfriend coming to stay with us over Thanksgiving at the end of November.
