My 2024

So 2024 has been a very varied year, in this post I will do a small recap of the year that had been, before I start to focus fully on the new year a head. I took inspiration from the wonderful Nancy at Two Trails One Road, because I loved how clean and nice her summary of the year was.

January

Snowy January

Obviously the year started in January and for me it started off with me on maternity leave. We had a good bit of snow, so all the walks I went on was a little bit heavy with the pram, but it was nice. Ickle Pickle was a lot easier to bring around than she was when she was even smaller, so I could get out and about visiting a little and doing some shopping and the like.

Ferbruary

February went by quite fast, with some more visits and just hanging out with Ickle Picle. And I celebrated my first mother’s day!

March

In March we went for a trip to Bergen to visit some friends and we had the first overnight stay at our cabin of the year. We also celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with a few pints and a nice meal.

April

In April we spent nearly four weeks in Ireland to make sure we had good time to visit friends and family for Ickle Pickle’s first introduction. As I took some unpaid maternity leave while my other half had his parental leave, we could travel a bit and make the most of our time. And I got to celebrate my birthday in a castle.

May

May came with very good weather, so nice that we got to use the little pool for the garden. We had a great time celebrating Norway’s national day on the 17th. And then we headed to the cabin for a little trip to enjoy the weather there. Then we brought my mother for a week to our favorite spot in Crete.

June

In June it was Ickle Pickle’s first birthday, I won a lot of baby food and stuff in a competition, and we celebrated mid-summer. We went to a food festival and got blessed with some great weather for it too. And at the end of the month, I got to go to a friend of mine’s wedding.

July

In July, we hung out quite a bit at an amazing place with activities for kids all summer, that was free of charge. We had some family from Ireland over to visit, took another trip to the cabin and made the most of the nice sunny days we got.

August

August was the last month I had time off from work and the last day of it was Ickle Pickle’s first day of Kindergarden. Before that we made sure to take a quick trip to Ireland, while we still had the chance. This month really went by in a blur!

September and October

In September I started working again and we got some great days of Indian Summer. I started blogging again and in October I was rehearsing a lot with band and that was about as exciting as things got.

November and December

November started with a brass band competition, before we went over to Ireland to visit friends and family once more (lucky me!). We had some snow, had a leak in the house and started preparing for Christmas. December came with more Christmas preparations and a good variety of seasonal illnesses.

  1. Sounds like an interesting years with some ups and downs but looks like you made some great memories along the way. Hopefully, you’ll have a great 2025!

    1. Thank you and a happy New Year to you too. I always enjoy visiting Bergen. I lived there for 5 years when I went to university and have always liked the city (and it is not to far from me). Hope 2025 will be amazing for you!
