5 Goals for 2025

Happy New Year everyone, we made it to 2025!

I should maybe have put in 25 goals, but I don’t think I’d manage to keep up with that many. 5 goals should be more than enough (and it is a lot less for you to have to read through). And my top post from last year, 5 reasons I went back to blogging, was also a 5-point list, so who knows, it looks like a good number for me. Two of the goals are blogging related and the rest of them are about my daily life.

2025 might be good, even if the start says WTF
  1. My first goal is one that has been on many times with different numbers. I am actually going to copy a goal I set in 2021 and for 2022. I want to manage 150 posts and to write 30.000 words on the blog this year. I do enjoy writing and posting, but by setting myself a goal I always try harder to reach it and it is not as easy giving in. I will obviously only write if I have something to say. Not just post random words to reach my goal.
  2. I would never set a goal for things I can’t do anything about (yes, I know there are things to be done with SEO and a lot of other tools, but that is not the point here). So, I’m not going to set a goal for how many visits and stuff I get on the blog. I do, however, love to engage with all of you and hope to see you here in 2025. But my goal is to mainly visit and engage with all of you as much as possible. And I want to get better at leaving meaningful comments.
  3. I want to spend some good quality time with my family and make sure that it is not all stress and rushing through every week. Now that I am back working, I do want to make the hours I have with Ickle Pickle count as much as possible. I do know that there will be times when it will be stressful and that is part of life too. But to manage to make some small pockets of enjoyment in the everyday is something I want to focus on.
  4. Learn something new. In the new year I want to learn some new things. I have signed up for a few short courses, mainly in personal finance and economy and some in digital marketing. It is courses that I think will be very interesting and that could be useful to me now and in the future. I will also try to do a few other interesting courses and maybe learn some new skills. I do really want to learn to be better at using IA tools and Canva for instance.
  5. Number 5 is also a goal that I have had on previous lists and that is to do at least one random act of kindness every week. It does not have to be anything very big every week, but a little kindness can go a long way. I will try to take the opportunities that come my way, but I will also try making an effort when there are no clear opportunities that present themselves. In the times we live in kindness towards each other is really needed.

So, how about you, do you have any goals for the new year? How do you think 2025 will be for you?

As for me the new year is starting good. I have already gotten a head start on goal number 1, one post and a few words down, many to go.

  1. Happy New Year and wishing you success with your goals. I have never been a New Year’s resolution kind of person. Just hoping for a better year where people can be kinder to one another. That may be a stretch but still a worthy goal. Cheers. Allan

  2. That’s a lot of good goals. I don’t have any specific goals but writing 100 posts in total between my two blogs maybe. 150 might be too much for me. I certainly would like to learn some new things too. Happy New Year to you and your family and have a great 2025. 🎉🥂

  3. Hi Mas. They say it’s good to have manageable goals. I’m with you on preferring the small number to a multitude of them. Goals are better than resolutions. Best wishes for an easy path to completing your goals. Happy New Year. Hugs.

  4. We no longer let our editor and agents pressure us to constantly publish new texts. We’ll follow our principle of quality instead of quantity in 2025. We will make our house and grounds a little nicer every day.
We very much like your fifth point and also try to be kind at least once every week. That’s a great idea of yours.
We wish you success in fulfilling your goals

  5. Great list of goals. The goal about engaging (#2) helps make the first goal about writing easier. I’ve been away for a while from writing, but hoping to get back to it this year
