Hoilday to Crete 2025: The Little Fun Train

It’s been a while since I came back from hoilday, but things have been a bit hectic and I have not had too much time to post on the blog, so here is another post from my travels to Crete late May.

We did not get up to too many activities beyond going to the nearby town of Platanias and visiting a little playground or two. But one thing we have done before and have always enjoyed is to take The Little Fun Train on one of their rides. This time we took the shortest one as we did not know how the little one would enjoy it. She really enjoyed the ride and all we got to see, as did we.

“LITTLE FUN TRAIN is nowadays the largest tourist train company in Greece, with a fleet consisting of 9 trains. On a daily basis, there are 10 different tours, each one with its own beauty and distinct points of interest, lasting from 1 to 3.5 hours.

Here is what they write about the tour we took, The Highland Express: The final afternoon tour offers the chance to discover the beauty of the fertile hillsides and the glorious past of upper Platanias , with 20min stop at the underground museum from World War II. We did not go in to the museum, but enjoyed the lovely views at the top of the hill where the museum was located.

Here is a post from one of the previous times we have been on the train (and I am pleased to note that the seats have gotten an upgrade since that time):
