Summer weekend

Last weekend was a lovely summer weekend. On Friday after work we drove to the beach I posted about perviously. But on Saturday we decided to go in to town to enjoy a nice summer day there. We walked in and went to a thing called summer in the park, where they have put out a lot of toys for kids and have a little cafe that serve a few little snacks that are very reasonably priced. We had coffee and a waffle and a juice box for pickles.

I think the initiative is really great. The kids loved the toys and it provides some youth with valuble work experience. They also have different things on every day, the day we were in it was a man making balloon animals for the kids. Ickle Pickle was very happy when she was presented with her little balloon dog, for free (it did only just last till we got home before it had an accident).

After that we wandered around a bit and sat down by the sea to enjoy the day. We then decided to go for a lovely lunch at a resturant called Deja vu. I had a lovely cold beer, a large prawn sandwich with a side salad and a creme brulee for desert. We all enjoyed our meal and wandered happily home after a full but lovely day.

On the Sunday we had to get some things done around the house, like vacuming and washing some clothes, so we spent some time doing that. But most of the nice day was spent in the paddling pool in the garden. It was warm, but it was forecasted to rain, but it did not start till after we had gone to bed, so we got to enjoy the whole day.

Now I have just logged off work for a weeks holiday and I am very ready for the time of. We are going to start off by taking a boat out to a lovely island with a tropical garden and I am very much looking forward to it, as it is a lovely place and the food have never disapointed.

What are your plans for the weekend?

  1. We love it, we have no plans.
The weather is great, the sea calm, and we have yummy food and drink.
Wishing you a great weekend as well

    🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

  2. My plans for most weekends is to clean my place for the cleaning lady then turn into a puddle for the rest of the weekend. Not nearly as much fun as you are having. A tropical garden and good food sounds grand. Love Creme’ Brulee!

  3. What a fun, family-focused weekend! We just got back from our longest vacation ever: 27 days on three continents…will be sharing much more soon, but exhausting!
