Work trip to Oslo canceled

Today’s post was suposed to be about a work trip to Oslo, but at the end of last week I ended up having to go to the doctor’s office because my back gave out and I was really strugling to move.

Most likely it is a prolapse and it will heal on it’s own, in a week or so. And It is allready a lot better. I got pain meds and was told to move as much as I managed. So that’s what I have been doing over the weekend, instead of doing the things I wanted to do. Like going to a nice activity day at the beach with work ending in a lovely dinner and going in to town to watch Stavanger Marathon and enjoying all the things that was going on in town.

I did get to go to my mother’s house for a lovely lamb stew. Watch some TV, feel sorry for my self and endulge in some snacks and moved around  as much as I managed (that started out being very little with a lot of pain killers and more and more with less pain medication).

So today’s post is not what it was supposed to be and the weekend did not turn out the way, but I am doing much better than I was last Friday. So that’s a positive thing and I hope it will keep improving.

  1. I assume that with prolapse you mean a slipped disc. I have a tendency to get those so I know what you are talking about. It is not pleasant. I wish you a speedy recovery. It is great that you had lovely lamb stew at your mother’s house.

      1. Well, I would not say regularly but I am, well was, prone to them. I had them a lot when I was in my 30’s and 40’s, a bit less often now. Exercising your back muscles will help you avoid them.

  2. Oh Maja, i hope that you feel 100% better very soon! I have back issues too that cause me to need a cane, it’s no fun. Be well! 🙏🏻😊

  3. Sorry to hear about the back pain. It can feel like a lot… but in the end, it’s God’s way of protection and saying, here, have a break and spend time with the people who warm your heart 🥰.
