3 Things I Would Like To Apologize For

I did something stupid today and I would like to apologize to whom it may concern. So I figured I would take the opportunity to apologize for a few more things when I decided to write a post about it. Below are some flowers to go with my apology!

Β 1. Accidentally deleting the comments in my spam-folder…

Yup, the stupid thing I did today was to delete all the comments WP had marked as spam before I checked to see if there was anything in the folder that was not spam. So if you left a comment on my blog and are waiting to eagerly to see it appear and to get a reply. I’m very sorry, but you’re going to have to re-send it. If you’re a bit annoyed with me and you can’t bother to re-send I very much understand it! All I can do is say I’m sorry and hope to be forgiven.

2. Β Not having the time or ability to leave good comments on your blogs

I love reading the wonderful post you put up on your blogs. When I read I laugh, I cry and every other emotion in between. I can read a great post, I’ll click the like button to say I’ve read your post and appreciated it and then it’s time to leave a few thoughtful words. And after all your blog post has given me all I can muster is “great post”. I know it’s really annoying, but I just can’t find anything better to say. I’ve often been told that one should shut up if one has nothing sensible to say, but somehow it just feel wrong to say nothing even if the something is as lame as the above mentioned or similar. Sometimes I think I might have something to say about a blog post, but I don’t have the time at the moment I’m reading the post to actually write the good comment. And afterwards I might forget to go back to the post and come up with a good comment. I apologize both for the good comments you have missed out on and the bad ones you have received.

3. Not giving enough back to the blogging community

The blogging community is a lovely thing to be allowed to participate in. There are so many warm, caring, nice people out there who help each other out and do so much good. I don’t feel like I do too much for anyone and I would love to do something, but I don’t know what I to do. I have limited funds and limited time and my imagination so far has not given me any good ideas as to what to do for the lovely people out there that has come to mean so much to me. This point also extend to the non-virtual world. It’s so easy to make someone’s day just a little better, yet I often just don’t know what to do, or forget I could do something. So I apologize and hope to do better in the future!

I probably should apologize for eating all the feta stuffed olives, but there is no one around to apologize to and I’m too stuffed to move..

Hope the weekend is good to all of you!

I don’t think the things you are apologizing for are all that bad. Things get deleted by mistake, people get tired, and by creating good content you are giving back plenty. The flowers are nice though. πŸ™‚

  2. Maja you don’t need to apologise, none of us are perfect and most of us have done all the above at some time or other (except EAT ALL THE FETA STUFFED OLIVES!!!!! – How COULD you do that and leave NONE FOR US!!!! – NAUGHTY Maja…😱)
I for one appreciate all the times you’ve called over to my blog, liked posts and left comments (which ARE appreciated)
Regards giving back to the blogging community – you do that already by showing your support when you visit our blogs and leave your smiling photo on the Likes and comments πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜

This is one of many reasons you are a more superior person than Donald Trump. He would never apologize for anything.
The flowers smell wonderful. I think there is a little eau d’ blomster coming through my screen. πŸ™‚

Thank you so much for the comment! You really made me laugh. I would probably have to fire myself for showing signs of weakness. But as I’m also a woman I could maybe get away with blaming it on hormones πŸ˜‰ But I think I would look even worse than him if I adopted his hairstyle.
Happy you liked the flowers. Enjoy them!

  4. I always appreciate your comments and likes Maja. I must confess that I don’t always get around to checking my spam folder so perhaps I should put my hand up and apologise. You have a great site. Keep blogging. All the very best and have a lovely weekend. Kevin

  5. Oh, dear Maja. We are all in your shoes, right now more than ever. I’ve heard from so many and apologized myself because we are so far behind that the like button is about all many can click. I have 539 unread e-mails sitting in my inbox right now. And I don’t have a job or a boyfriend. Don’t mind not having a job. πŸ™‚ The boyfriend might be a nice distraction. πŸ™‚ This summer has caught us all hanging on with our fingernails. I’ve finally let go and realized I can only do what I can do and you are doing the same. If anyone said something, they need to get a life that’s as full as yours. Then let them flap their gums. If you had been stuffing chocolate rather than olives, I might have chastised you for not sharing but you can have all the olives. Thanks for sharing the flowers. I haven’t had time to grow very many yet so I appreciate the kindness. πŸ˜‰ You are too sweet to worry so much at such a young age. You’ve got lots of time to get it all done. Hugs and enjoy.

Thank you so much Marlene, you always have such nice and encouraging things to say!
539 sounds like an extreme amount of emails. But you seem to have spent most of your summer being very busy in the garden, going abroad and having family visit! We can’t always prioritize the blog. We need to give off our precious time to other things as well.
I have a bit of chocolate left as I’m too full of olives to eat it, you can help yourself to as much as you want!
Glad you enjoyed the flowers! Hope your weekend will be as wonderful as you.

      • Ah, yes, the weekend has it’s own agenda. I have more company coming today. And I’m going to help my daughter find a dress to wear to a wedding we are going to next weekend. She hates shopping for clothes as nothing ever fits nicely. I follow a lot of blogs and some write every day. With the sewing and house painting, there is just not enough of me. Though a bit more chocolate could cure that, :)) Have a wonderful weekend yourself.

      • masgautsen says:

Thank you! I hope you find a nice dress for your daughter ☺

I think you leave wonderful comments!

Forgiven for everything…EXCEPT ” eating ALL the olives ! that’s just mean but I see you mentioned the C word so I’ll forgive you, maybe not forget but am a sucker for Chocolate πŸ™‚

  8. Anna says:

Well said. I say the same πŸ™‚

  9. sepultura13 says:

There’s nothing to apologize for. Just clicking the ‘like’ button, or following a blog, can mean more than a long comment! You’re doing just fine.

  10. Wanna apologize for breathing and having a life? =) Please don’t. We all do what we can. It can take hours, if not days, tending to what I call the underside of blogging (support others). Stay happy!

  11. The kindness of your heart shines through, Maja. Mega hugs.

We all make mistakes all the time! So we keep learning all the time!
Forget about it, look: I just nominated you for the Blogger Recognition Award.
DonΒ΄t worry you donΒ΄t have to accept the award or do anything, this is just my way to tell you THANK YOU, I admire your work and I am grateful to you for sharing and teaching me so much!
    Check it out here: http://wp.me/p5trJ-ss
And once again, thank you for blogging!!!
    Your friend always,

You sound very interesting already. . I can’t wait to read more. Have fun and enjoy the fall weather.

  14. C.E. says:

Don’t feel guilty!!! You’re one of the biggest supporters of my blog. I love your comments πŸ™‚ I’m guilty of not reading other blogs enough lol. But Blogging is supposed to be FUN! Just write and enjoy ❀

  15. mommermom says:

No apology needed! I think you do a fabulous job. It is so difficult to keep up with our favorite bloggers- just to keep up with the blogs we follow and to keep up with their own blogs! Thanks for the flowers. I love your blog.β™‘β™‘β™‘

  16. Its a lot to maintain a blog–so do your best! We love visiting you and seeing the things you write! Keep it up!
We’re having a blog party this weekend and would LOVE for you to stop by and share your blog with our readers! (And if you want to “bring” any of your friends or readers, we’d LOVE to see them, too! The more the merrier!) The link won’t be live until Friday–but here’s your “invite” to the party:

  17. Joanne Corey says:

We are all just muddling along doing the best we can. Don’t beat yourself up about it.

  18. Ellen Hawley says:

There’s only so much time in the world. We can’t keep up with everything. Just fax over some of those feta-stuffed olives and I’ll be happy.

  19. Tim Gatewood says:

Well, I hope this comment doesn’t go into your spam folder. (ha ha). Seriously, good post. I hadn’t realized how much there was in the blogosphere until I took the #blogging101 class which is ending this weekend. Now, I have a huge list of blogs I’m following and I reblog every day from some of them. That’s something you can do to help your fellow bloggers – follow their blogs and reblog their posts. It takes less time to do that than to come up with clever and funny comments (win for you) and may help them get new followers (win for them). And even a short Attaboy! comment is appreciated.

  20. Stacey says:

Keeping up with comments is hard, so don’t feel too hard on yourself. I only get a few a week and I still struggle to keep up. Oh, and I always think any comment is better than no comment, so if ever you’re hanging around my neck of the woods and want to leave a “Great post”, thats’ fine by me.

P.S Just stopped by from the Teachaholic blog party

    • masgautsen says:

I love comments myself and I am trying to think that others feel the same as me when it comes to being left a comment on their blog. I just wish I was better at writing good ones!

      • Stacey says:

I know exactly what you mean. I shall just have to follow the old saying “practice makes perfect”. Don’t be surprised if I send some random comments in the future.

      • masgautsen says:

And the same goes for you! I was over at your blog and enjoyed it very much!

  21. I feel the same way all the time – especially with the comment thing! It makes me feel so bad that someone has written a great post and I can’t think of something intelligent to comment, but it happens more often than I’d maybe like to admit!

With all of these things, I’ve just had to learn to do what I can. Yes, giving back to the blogging community and leaving nice comments and everything is kind, but ultimately I have to remember to focus on writing my posts first, and then giving back to the community second. It’s hard to remember, but you’ve put it into words perfectly!

  22. Aw, don’t beat yourself up. You’re doing fine. πŸ™‚

  23. I agree with you! I have such a hard time leaving comments and having time to spend reading everyone’s blog post. How are other people keeing up? I have wondered that for months! My blog hit a plateau and has not grown in readership for the past 2 months.

    • masgautsen says:

I just have to accept that I do the best I can and try to be content with that. I notice that my stats go up when I do have the time to read other blogs and interact with others by comments or even just liking. I enjoy reading your blog and hope you will get your readership up and that you get to cross of some of the places on your list!

  24. What a cute post. Definitely apologize for the feta stuffed olives, but the rest – life happens. Blogging would take the ENTIRE day, every day, if you did all those things you feel a need to apologize for. There just isn’t the time and we all skim, skip writing comments, leave smiley faces, miss posts, and hit the delete key (oops). Each of us struggles to balance this virtual world with the physical one, and making the time for eating feta stuffed olives is important. πŸ˜€

  25. This post feels like it was written by me. Lol. I am guilty of all of those things. And seeing as I’m just discovering your blog, I’ll forgive you. Lol. But in all seriousness, I’m definitely going to reblog this. It’s well written and I couldn’t word this apology any better if I tried.

  26. dweezer19 says:

No aplogies needed. We all have time constraints, get in a hurry and feel overwhelmed at times. I don’t always leave a comment if I am checking blogs on a work break.
And about those olives…..eat them! Noy a fan. Hugs!

  27. Janice Wald says:

    Hi Maja,
Nothing to apologize for. I will be linking to this post tomorrow at my Weekly Roundup. Check in with MostlyBlogging then.

  28. Wow! I love your post, they are really inspiring, not all will take out time to apologize for deleting comments, like you did. It shows that you care much about your readers. Hope to see more wonderful post from you. Cheers Maya

  30. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You’ve said it so much better than I, and believe me, I’ve tried.

  31. K. Renae P. says:

You should never apologize for eating feta stuffed olives. They are delicious, and you deserve delicious things. Happy New Year!

  32. you are so charming and delightful….you are making a positive difference, and are much appreciated πŸ™‚
