Happy Easter

Thursday morning 7th of April

Easter is here and so far, it has come with all kinds of weather. On Thursday morning the ground was covered in snow. But by the end of my working day on Friday (when most of my colleagues started their holiday) the sun was shining, nice and warm. There was quite a lot of wind, but I managed to find a sheltered spot in the sunshine and enjoyed a beer before we went out for a meal. The sun gave of good heat, and it was a lovely feeling, almost like spring is finally here. Sadly it did not last long, but moments like that give you a bit of hope.

Saturday morning, I woke up early and there was a bit of sleet and snow in the air. I packed an overnight bag and headed to the summerhouse. The weather was not the best, but I stayed mostly indoors, with the fireplace warming up the house as the wind was blowing hard. My mother and I enjoyed a lovely leg of lamb, some easter candy and had a chilled day. We also had a few easter puzzles and quizzes to entertain us.

Sunday came with a little better weather, and the drive home was quite nice. When I got home, I went to my cousin’s house to deliver some easter eggs for the kids and we were treated to a little dance show and a bit of disco. We went out for a great meal, went for a walk and then to my mother’s house to meet up with my brother who is home for the few days. All in all, it was a fully packed, but wonderful day.

Baos, dumplings and poke bowl

Now have been at work for Monday and I have one and a half day of work to go before I head over for a vacation in Ireland. There is hardly anyone in the office and so it is a great time to get all those small things you never get around to done. I have one egg left to hand out before we go and quite a few ready to put in my suitcase to hand out to friends and family once we get to Ireland. Having a bag with a lot of candy also makes sure that there will be room for me to do some shopping when I am over there.

What are your plans for Easter?

  1. I am always torn about how much to cook, but my special “potato pie”, “ratatouille” and a small “gigot D’agneu” are probably on the menu! I love to cook…thanks for sharing such delicious looking photos!

  2. My relatives are here from Vienna for a couple of days before continuing their little Germany tour. I have to work till Thursday and will then enjoy my Austrian Easter feast on Saturday with lots of reading during the holidays. Have a great Easter and a wonderful trip to Ireland. Can’t wait for your next adventures!

  3. Happy Easter Maja and safe travels to Ireland. We are staying put over Easter. Our weather has been up and down too. +22 one day, -2 the next. Covid numbers are climbing again, so no travel for us yet. Cheers. Allan

  4. Easter weekend for me is to relax mainly. But I will catch up with a friend tomorrow and I have another friend who will pop by on Sunday.

  5. I go outside, look at nature and think, “My goodness, I couldn’t stop life or renewal if I tried. And such beauty; the flowers, the trees, the birds, to remind me, love and life are one and infinite.”
