After we had been to Powerscourt House and Gardens we drove the short stretch to Powerscourt Waterfall. This is Irelands highest waterfall which cascades dramatically down 121 meters of rugged rock. We parked the car and walked a short way to the waterfall.

The waterfall was really great to look at and it was quite easily accessible, quite close to the waterfall. But it was really nice to get close to the water and jump a bit from stone to stone to get a good look. I did dip my hand in, but it was quite cold even if it was a nice day.

I volunteered to take a few photos of some families so that everyone got to be in the photo. And a nice lady offered to do the same back. Sadly, she was not very good at taking photos so all the photos of me and my other half also includes part of her finger. But it’s the thought that counts.

There were a big, lovely area that would have been amazing for a picnic or a barbeque, but we had already had lunch at Powerscourt House, so that was not for us. There were many families that did take the opportunity for a picnic in the nice Easter weather. We did have a sneaky ice cream from the kiosk before heading back to our hotel.

The area around the waterfall, in addition to being great for picnics, had a large playground for kids and many nice little trails for walking around.

Hope this Thursday treats you well and that you are doing good.
