Stormy start to the weekend

It is finally Friday again and this week feels like it has gone by in a blit of a blur. Today after I had some time to make a nice root vegetable mash and some salmon with butter sauce. Both myself, the other half and Ickle Pickle liked it and it was a good meal for a day that has been wet misserable and stormy for the most part. The worst of the wind we are getting is comming about now, but we are not in such a bad state as our family and friends in Ireland. They are safe, but some had power outages and some property damage. But Èowyn is sure making itself know here too. My thoughts are with everyone that is more affected by this than us.

Decided to let AI make a picture for this post

Tomorrow and Sunday I am going for band practice most of the day. We are a few weeks away form going to Bergen, another town in Norway than the one I live in, but somewhere I did my 5 years of university, to compete in the National Championship. So we need to practice together to make it sound as good as possible before that. When I head for Bergen for a couple of nights in February it will be the first time I will be gone from Ickle Pickle. I am looking forward to getting a full night’s sleep, but I am glad it is not more than two nights. Not becuse I don’t think she will have fun with her daddy, but because I will miss her terrebly. And I am also looking forward to going back to Bergen both to play and to visit friends.

The rest of the time I don’t have too many plans, but I will try to relax as best I can and spend time with the family and try to work on the ever growing list of chores. Hopefully the weekend will come with some more nice food as well. As it is very much indoor weather for the moment and probably the whole weekend.

I was recently told by my doctor that I had very low levels of Iron and vitamine b12, so I am hoping that the supplements I was given might give me a little more energy back. I assumed that feeling this tired and exausted was just a part of having a young child, but turns out it might be improved a bit by getting my levels closer to normal.

What are you spending the weekend doing?

  1. I was smack bang right in the midst of the storm! I am in Cork as you know! I did not lose power thankfully, so many did! 725 thousand people in Ireland are without power! I don’t have plans this weekend, so I’m just going to read, relax, and write!

    1. I am glad you are safe and that you did not lose power. Most of my friends in county Galway lost theirs, but most have it back now. Just not the ones in the rural areas

  2. It’s a wild time for weather right now, isn’t it? Exciting to read about your upcoming trip – making music is such a great way to bring happiness to others…even though New York is in the twenties temperature-wise, we are headed out for dinners with friends every night…after a full week of work, it’s a great way to have some fun!

      1. Sushi tonight, Thai food tomorrow and bagels with smoked salmon for brunch Sunday – New York has an estimated 25,000 to 45,000 restaurants of all shapes and sizes…it’s a food lovers dream come true! I eat ramen, sushi, burgers, tacos, pizza pizza pizza, hot dogs, soup, salads etc all within a mile of my apartment! I think I gained weight just typing this!

  3. I hope that your levels will return to normal very soon, Maja. Feeling tired is never fun, have a safe trip! I saw the terrible storms you mention on our Weather Channel this morning, wow! I hope there will be no loss of life or property. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

  4. I had low B12 too and once you start taking the medication you’ll have much more energy. It helps a lot. And you’re feel more well rested too. Hope you have a nice weekend and get some relaxing done. I want to work on my writing this weekend.

    1. I had it before, but that was just after my pregnancy, so I did not get any sleep. I imagine that is why I did not feel energetic and rested. This time I am sure I will notice

  5. Once in a day I pray that my friends are safe and healthy. When they don’t post any in the blog, I see, I really bother. Hope soon you will get through this storm Masgautsen. My prayers are real. With Lots of love.

  6. I know several bloggers who are in the storm area and worry about them. Congratulations on being in the National Championship and best of luck to you and your band. We just woke up in the American West, but I think it will become an author day.

  7. Good luck on the band competition! I was in marching band and loved it.

I’ve been to Bergen… beautiful city. We have family in Stavanger and Flekkefjord 😎 🇳🇴

  8. Nice post.
    Thanks for sharing
    Wishing you well re health.
Can certainly relate to the never list of chores… it never ends. But it’s goof also just take time out. And yes that mum guilt of being away from little one so can relate to that. But it’s good you are taking time out for you too 😊.

We spent family time outdoors hunting for early signs of Spring… much needed for well being. The motherhood journey truly is a wonderful journey.

    Hope the storms calmed..
