Getting ready

This week for me is mostly about everything leading up to the National Competition that I am going to this weekend. We had a concert on Sunday that could have gone a lot better, but we also had rehersals yesterday that went very well. All in all the weekend was really nice. Today is the only day where I am not doing anything band related. I have been getting some gifts for the kids of one of my best friends that I will be visiting when I go to Bergen, so I guess that is somewhat related to the trip, but not directly.

Good thing I got someone to wrap the gifts for me

Tomorrow I will make sure that Ickle Pickle and her father has everything they need in the house and can heat up some nice food when I am gone, as I am the one that usually do the cooking in the house. And also the patience of a 1,5 year old is not the best (at least not ours), so everything you don’t have to spend time on when she is home, is really good. And I want them to be left in a good state the first time I go travelling away from the two of them. I have no doubt that they will do just fine, but the better it goes, the easier it will be to leave another time. In the evening I am going to play another concert, this will be like a dress rehersal for the competition Friday night. This will give me the chance to hear one of the bands that I used to play with.

Thursday, I will be doing a few things thet I need to do at home before I get in the car and drive up to Bergen. I am going when the traffic is usually not at the worst, but it is always hard to predict. Hopefully I will get there early enough to be able to take a walk around the town and do a little walk down memory lane. Friday it is rehersals, meeting people and playing the competition. Hopefully I will get the time to update you when I am there, or when I come home on Saturday.

Hope this week will treat you all well. What are you intending on getting up to?

  1. Safe travels and good luck in Bergen. Here we just have appointments and errands and dealing with the cold weather and snow. Next week, we head to the mountains for a few days. Happy Tuesday Maja. Allan

  2. Good luck with your concert…nothing more fulfilling than artistic expression and music soothes the soul….it’s Super Bowl weekend in the US, the most watched TV show of the year…so I am making food that honors both teams and will be sharing those recipes in a few minutes! Have fun on your trip and of course the family will be fine and bond even more!

  3. I’m keeping good thoughts that everything goes very well on all fronts and you all play to your satisfaction. I know how hard it is to leave a little one at home with dad or to just leave them at all. Enjoy your trip, the concerts and the catch up with friends.
