Easter in Ireland 2025: Headford

Nice house on the farm

In my previous post we had just “checked out” of our friends house in Tuam, but we were not going too far. We headed for a friend of ours about 30 minutes away on a farm in Headford. We arrived just after nap time and said hello before we went down to meet “the girls” and their calves. Ickle Pickle was very excited to see the animals I don’t think she remembers anything from her visit there last year, but she was a lot more engaged now. On our way back up to the house we visited our friends mother for a cup of tea and a chat.

Some of the spring arrivals this year

When we arrived back at the house another friend and his daughter also arrived. Ickle Pickle had great fun playing with the older girl and she was doting on her, so all was well. They really get on every time they meet and the older girl is so great with our little one. We got some take away in the evening and chatted while we enjoyed our food, before it was time for bed.

The next morning we had a lazy breakfast (again), and stayed in the house till it was time for the others to go on an easter egg hunt and time for us to get in the car and drive to the next county to have a lovely roast beef dinner with some family members for Easter Sunday. We stayed there until evening time and we had to drive back South to meet up with the rest of the family the next day.

Garden and fields

Our time in the West was really busy, but it was really great that we got to meet up with as many people as we did and we had such a great time with them, as we always do. I feel lucky to hav so many good friends and family there and we are lucky we get to see them as often as we do considering we don’t live in the same country.

I can hardly believe we have come to May already, I don’t know where the time goes these days. But April was a lovely month and I have faith that May will be the same. Hopefully with me making a full recovery, with getting my rest and enjoying the warm weather we are getting. Even if it is currently raining.

I hope May will treat you all well.

  2. We have faith May will be another beautiful month for us. The calves are adorable. And I love the garden and the farm house, masgauten.
