Weekend at the summerhouse

Last weekend we went for a trip to our summerhouse. We drove a little early after work on Friday and stopped on the way to do some food shopping for the weekend. The drive in is very scenic and we were on the road before most people were off work, so there was not much traffic.

When we got in it was about time to start thinking about making dinner. The sun was out and it was nice and warm, so we ate outside on the patio and spent most of the evening outside.

The next day we had a nice slow breakfast and then went outside to spend some time down by the sea and to visit some people that had some nice toys for Ickle Pickle to play with, and some coffee for the adults.

When it was nap time, I got to go for a long, lovely walk, enjoying the sunshine and moving a little bit. The area is wonderful for going on walks and even if I had to stay on the road because of the pram, the surroundings are really relaxing.

After the nap we set up a little bathtub outside for Ickle Pickle to splash in and play with. She had so much fun. We ate dinner outside again and spent the rest of the evening roaming around the garden.

Sunday, we had the slow breakfast again and then we went down to the sea to find little crabs and throw some stones into the sea. After a little lunch we got in the car and drove home when it was nap time as my mother had plans at home.

When we got home, we stayed outside and set up a little paddling pool and we ordered Pizza for dinner and ate it on a picnic banket. When we went out to the playground after dinner there were so many of the neighborhood kids there that it became a little like a little party in the sunshine and none of the kids wanted to go in for bedtime.

I am very glad that it is almost the weekend again. Do you have any plans?

  1. Looks like a delightful weekend at the cottage Maja. Wishing you another good weekend. Our plans include packing up and starting the long drive home after 45 days away dealing with family stuff. Can’t wait to get home. Happy Thursday. Allan

  2. What a terrific getaway! A beautiful location that seems very peaceful, and having special family time like that is good for the heart and soul.

  3. What a beautiful summer house and place it is. The horse! I love them. It’s so scenic that it pleases my eyes. Your weekend sounds like bliss

  4. I love the pics. I planned to get some yard work done, but we have been getting some much needed rain. Our forecast for the weekend is mostly rain, cooler temps, and a slight chance of snow. We should be back to seasonal temperatures week.

    1. Thank you. We do need some rain soon too. It is about to get gain as well. but I don’t think we’ll have snow. I am off to Crete soon so I don’t mind.

  5. Those are very beautiful photos. In Sweden it is very common to have a summer house my guess is that it is the same in Norway. Here in Texas it is not very common. As for us, this weekend we are leaving for France. My wife has a sister in France and we are meeting up with the and her family.

  6. You had a great weekend.
Here it got cold, 15 degrees only. So we’ll have a cosy time inside. Maybe we’ll go to our stuga (summer house), read there or listen to audiobooks.
    Enjoy the weekend
