Most of last week, when I was not at work. I have spent getting ready for moving house. We had some members of family coming over to help us to move and another friend had lent us a trailer that we could use for moving. We had a lot of friends that had said they could help, but in Covid times you have to be restrictive with who you can get help from.
Yesterday was the time for the big move. The weather was sunny but there was an icy wind. It was almost ideal moving weather. We did some more packing and getting every thing ready in the morning and then the small crew came in to help.
All our large and small furniture was driven up the short distance to the new house and it went relatively smooth. I was very happy for the strong men that lifted what I would not be able to. And that someone had no trouble driving a car with the trailer. I would have never dared to reverse with that thing.
We had a break in our back garden where we ate pizza and some cake. And as it is sheltered from the wind it was quite lovely and warm, so we had a great time. If the weather had not been as good as it was I don’t know what we would have done. Maybe just ordering pizza to the family that helped at their own house. But the weather was on our side on the day.
Now there is quite a bit of stuff left in the old apartment, but we have all the big stuff up here now and we spent our first night here. But we do have a week to empty and clean the old place and hopefully get a little bit more installed in the new one.
Today is looking very bright, so it looks like I will have a nice time walking between the houses. But now I will sit on my couch, drink coffee and visit some blogs. In short just enjoy my morning.

The big stuff is always the hardest and the small stuff you can easily manage with enough endurance and time. I imagine it will be lovely being in the new place and once the other is empty and cleaned, you can catch your breath and take a bit more time. Moving is hard. Never wanted to do it again. Thanks for the update.
