Spring is in the air

It’s been a little while, again, since I have posted anything but my Wordless Wednsday posts. I have been about to many times but something always got in the way. But I am very busy recovering from my illness and had my last (hopefully) operation early this week, it looks like it was a succsess. And I have now started working 50% again, this feels like a big step in the right direction. I have missed all of you and I hope to find more time and energy to read your posts and engage now. Spring looks like it has come to stay here and that always give me an energy boost.

The last few days we have had great sunshine and we have spent as much time as possible outdoors, to get us all some fresh air and move a bit. I really enjoy being able to be outside in spring when all the flowers are blooming and the trees are getting green and feeling the sun warming on my face is a really lovely feeling. The other day I go so warm I had to go inside for a glass of water to hydrate, but that was in a very sunny spot in our garden with no wind.

Last week Ickle Pickle was home “sick” her form was just fine, but she had to stay home due to being contagious. The weather was really bad, so we had to stay indoors for the most part and that was not very popular with her. Luckily she was allowed to see other people over the weekend and we went to an indoor play land over the weekend so she could let out some energy. And she was allowed to go play with her friends at kindergarden this week.

My other half and I went on our first propper date since Ickle Pickles arrival on our anniversary on St. Patrick’s day and we enjoyed a lovely meal and then decided to do the very romantic thing of buying a new washing machine. Our old one was on the verge of breaking down so it was about time. Turnes out it was perfect timing becuse it was running a lot the last week. We did also go for a drink and enjoyed some time toghether just the two of us.

Last week I met up with some friends to catch up and to see a childhood friend have a release concert for her new album. We had a really great time and it was wonderful to be able to be social again, even if I got quite tired from staying up late.

Last night I went to a late night shopping event at the store for used childrens clothing, I found some sun hats and a book for the little one and enjoyed some nice tapas. And then I went for a nice evening walk to enjoy the sunset. It was really lovely last night, but I did not get any photos that really could do it any justice. But I put one in the post and hope you get an idea of how nice an evening we had.

Now we are getting ready for easter as we are about to have guests at the start of easter and are planning on going for a trip to Ireland at the end. I am very much looking forward to both.

I hope all of you are doing well and that you are getting to enjoy springtime. How is spring where you are?

  1. Sending best wishes for a prompt full recovery. It is never fun not being well. Looks like your spring is further along than ours. We were doing well until that last dump of snow. Happy Thursday. Allan

  2. Hoping you feel better soon! 😎 Sprng here (North Carolina) has 2 or 3 distinct phases. Right now, we’re in “yellow pollen” phase where all the pine trees release their pollen. In addition to sneezing and runny eyes, everything (including ponds) gets a giant spray paint job of yellow 😂😜 Thankfully, it only lasts about 2 weeks.

    1. Thank you. We don’t usually get that concentration of pollen here it is more spread out. But we do notice it on all the surfaces in the garden when it happens.

  3. So happy to read that you are up and around, enjoying Spring weather🌷🌱. Expecting snow here in New York next week🙃. Your photo of the landscape is beautiful.

  4. When you didn’t post any blog, I was really worried and prayed for you. Want to see a big smile on your face as a well-wisher (friend). It’s raining but then too we enjoy our weekend. May you recover fast 💐
