We are now home from our travels to Ireland and we had a really great time there with friends and family and also some time to relax. So in the next while I will share some posts from the trip with you, hope you’ll want to come along for the ride.

After our stay at the airport hotel, we drove West from Dublin and down to the little town of Tuam in County Galway, to stay with some friends. We arrived and spent the rest of the day in their house to catch up and enjoy a take away. One of the boys in the house wanted the Irish phenomenon served in chineese resturants called a spice bag or spice box. So we tried a bit of that and some other nice food. The spice box, that is mosty different fried chicken, fries, chilli and onion was not my favourite. But apparently all the rage in Ireland. I liked my duck in plum sauce better.

The next day we went in to town to meet up with friends, after a nice long breafast. We had a nice lunch with one of them and managed to see most of the people we wanted to meet up with, including some kids Ickle Pickle’s age for her to play with (or play besides as they mostly do). They were very good at sharing their toys with her. I also had a little bit of time, when Ickle Pickle had her nap, to go visit some of the shops in town, including the local chocolate maker, that had many nice treats for easter and other things. I got a nice passion fruit filled chocolate to bring home with me.

After the meet ups we went back to the house of the friends we stayed with, enjoyed a lovely chicken roast and another night of chatting and enjoying the company of good friends. The day after we had breakfast, played a little ball in the garden and then headed for a friend of ours farm. Ickle Pickle really liked to stay there with loads of attention from the two boys of the house and their parents, a dog, a cat and a bearded dragon.

We came at the same time as the rain. But we are used to all kinds of weather both at home and over in Ireland so we’re not to worried
Sounds like a relaxing time.

I love Ireland☘️ the land of my mother’s birth and have written several stories on my blog about this enchanted country. Its people too, are one of a kind! Your trip sounds perfect.
Thank you. My other half is Irish and we love going over to visit friends and family
My mom was from Leitrim. We visited Ireland and rented a house for 2 weeks in the summer. Wrote about that experience as well on my blog, “Summers Remembered.” My son just graduated from Trinity College Dublin. 4 years, year one was the lockdown. I wrote about it and it was published by the Irish Times. https://nynkblog.com/2024/12/12/i-made-it-through-the-rain/
How cool, two of my nieces have attended Trinity too!
Awesome
