One of the things we did as our holiday started a few weeks ago is that we went back to a lovely tropical plant garden on an island just of Stavanger, to enjoy the wonderful flowers thay plant and enjoy an amazing dinner and drinks.

As before when I have been here I have taken many photos so I have split this in to two posts for you. This place plants new flowers every year (The trees are obviously left standing) so the garden looks different every year and it is always lovely to go out for a visit.

This year we brought my mother and it was Ickle Pickle’s first time out there. She enjoyed the boat ride out and had her nap as we were given a nice tour. The tour guide was really good and engaging. She got to enjoy the island afterwards and was all happy about going for a dip, running around and eating lovely food.

Some of the trees they take in to a green house every year and they do the same with their carp fish, this ensures that they can survive the Norwegian winters. The body’s of water and the rock formations are obvously not changed every year, so that gives a good bit of continuity. But even here they are doing so much and expanding the garden and building new things that each visit is never like the one before.

My summer is still going strong, even if we had a cold and wet storm last week. How is yours treating you?

Thank you, it was wonderful!
Very inspirational travel writing! What is your favourite destination?
Thank you, it is either Ireland or Crete, I think
That’s awesome! I was in Crete a long time ago when I was a child. For me it’s Peru, Mexico and Japan. You should by the way check out the Travel Media Academy. We start a new semester of the Master Program of Travel Journalism on the 7th of September. Thought it could be maybe cool for you to join: https://perutours.nl/academy/
Absolutely beautiful, the garden as well as the photos.
We have warm summer weather here, sunshine, but a stiff breeze last week. Spring and summer are to our liking.

Gorgeous. I wouldn’t have expected something like this in Norway either.
No, it is special allright!
The tropical plant garden is beautiful. Your photos are very beautiful. As for us, we’ve had a fairly hot and dry summer so far in north Texas. Right now it is 100 degrees, which is 38 Celsius.
Thank you! That sounds very warm, hope you manage to stay hydrated
I just carried twenty 43lbs (20kg) bags of soil, 100-200 feet, in 98 degrees (37 Celsius) real feel 110 degrees (43 Celsius) because we are making a garden in the backyard. But I stayed hydrated. Thank you masgautsen.
Wow, that is impressive in that heat!
Amazing that they can display such things there.
Yes, it sure is!
Such beautiful gardens
Thank you, I agree
