The weather here has turned cold the last week. And even if every season has it’s charm I still found myself missing the heat and sunshine.
I was looking through my photos from this summer ‘ s trip to the lovely Tuscany. And decided to share some photos from the lovely city of Florence.
We stopped off in Florence on our way home and didn’t have much time there. But we decided to get the hop on hop off buss a couple of times around to see some of the town.
It was a great experience and Florence is on the list of places I’d like to go again.
It sure is a city with a lot of history both with regards to art and science.
On a different note I’m enjoying my weekend very much. There seem to be plenty of time both for socialising and relaxing.
Hope the weekend is treating you very well.
It’s always lovely to relive warm summer holidays during the cold winter months. I love you photos and they bring back memories of my own trip there years ago, an enchanted magical city. Wishing you a happy Sunday! 😀
Thank you! And a very happy Sunday to you too.
Looks like a wonderful trip.
It was!
I love all the European architecture. I’ve always wanted to visit Italy but the opportunity never arose. Thanks for letting me see it through your eyes. It’s cold everywhere now, I’m guessing except down under in the southern hemisphere. I’ll take the cold any day over too hot though. It was cold enough yesterday that my daughter and I baked cookies during our visit together. I have the better kitchen so she comes here to bake. Today, will be a sewing day. The sun is shining but the temps are freezing. 🙂 I’m glad you are getting plenty of time for everything. Enjoy today.
Sounds lovely. We spent the weekend eating amazing food and meeting up with a lot of wonderful people.
Lovely photos! I was in Florence many years ago – though I only had a few days there I really loved it and it is somewhere I would like to go back to one day. The art and architecture is just gorgeous and there is so much of it, as you say 🙂
Thank you. It was sometimes a bit hard getting good shots from the moving bus.
I could look at that architecture all DAY! Such beautiful photos, Maja! I was able to travel to Florence 20 years ago. I need to go back. I know I would have a totally different perspective on everything–the food, the history, the people. I am so happy you shared that experience with all of us. I’m sure your trip was magical. And thank you so much for stopping by my site yesterday!
Thank you! I’m sure going back after 20 years would be a great experience!
Florence looks great, and I’m sure you had a blast. I’d love to go someday and see all the art.
It was lovely. I’d like to go again and see more of the art and observatorium.
The fact that you’d like to return say’s plenty about why a visit there would be unforgettable.
You are so right!
Ah Florence! I love this city! So grand with its beautiful architecture and grand avenues!
It sure is a beautiful city! I wouldn’t mind returning.

You too!
Beautiful. I love Stavanger and Bergen when I visited and everywere in Norway for that matter!
I’ve lived in in both places and I enjoyed them both.
Ah Tuscany….
At a Marina
She walks back from the beach victorious, having
scored two of the finest rolled buritos to go with the
usual six pack, Jack, crunchy snacks She looks briefly at
fleeting passersby who glance into her soft eyes as she
extends her stride. Suddenly, summer. Your Danzi thrusts
across the bay. On a hill by the lake, pastoral love brings
back memories, but you’re here to make a new present, not
to wallow in the past. According to her own reports, she’s
going to be understanding, strict, unyielding, happy, in control
and in command, which means she expects you to shed your
ego and pull into her marina, but your Danzi is built for two, so
our friends will have to ski in this wild, untamed watercourse.
You’d better “set the controls for the heart of the sun”
because this Siren has extra large ambition and it will
be your job to reel her in, or hitch on to a ride that may
soar or crash. How did she find you? Does she have any idea?
Where will her friends allow her to go? Three arches tower
over ancient universal doorways. Two types of lovers play
in peace, away from the ravages dealt to those living over
oil. You pull in, she welcomes, thinks, wonders, imagines.
Beautiful! Thank you very much for your lovely poem.
Thank you for sharing these photos. Your photographs brought back fond memories of our many visits to Florence.
Thank you very much for your kind words!
You are welcome.
