It might not come as a surprise to you but this weekend has bee mostly working in our new house. Saturday I got up early, but as I had gone to bed early on Friday I was well rested. I started the day with some painting. We got a large car load out to the dump. There is still a lot of the old floor and other bits and bobs that has to go, but it all helps. So when good friends with large cars offers to help, we happily accept. We also got some sheets for a wall in the basement and some for leveling the floor.
It was a long day working, so we decided to treat ourselves to a good meal when the evening came. Then we crashed out on the couch and watched MiB International on Netflix before going to bed with sore muscles.
Sunday came with lovely sunshine. So, after a morning of painting, I went for a long lovely walk. And then I sat down outside in the garden and enjoyed a cup of coffee. Before going back to do some more work in the house. I was mostly watching my other half working, while providing some assistance holding, measuring and carrying. There was not too much done today, but at least I got some nice rays of sunshine after a week of snow, sleet and a lot of wind.
We went for another little walk and did a lazy pizza dinner. I cut my other half’s hair, as I have done since the start of the pandemic and now I am watching the football game between Tottenham and Manchester United.

Luckily it’s 70+ here and beautifully sunny, and my wife and I got our single J&J dose of the vaccine so we are seeing a bright light at the ned of the pandemic tunnel! We walk down our hill and back which is a good bit of exercise and at the very top you can see all of Los Angeles laid out below…it’s inspiring!

I’m glad you are still excited about the new house. I’m happy for you. I saw the ribs and wondered what sort of sauce was on them. It looks like barbecue sauce but I don’t think it’s the same as Memphis sauce — but why should it be? The slaw (the vegetables) look very different, too. Is it cabbage? Have fun and keep going!

We had a relaxed weekend of reading and having strolls to the next village. Our dear Master just reads an interesting but obviously not easy to understand book about AI, a topic he is very interesting in right now. We got some boxes of books we were donated by a lady who has died. We loaded our car, brought them home, sorted them out and then we all went for quite a long walk in warm sun. Dina wanted to see our resident white owl again to take some more pictures of her but she didn’t show up. In the evening we all four cooked together sea bass with rice and some veges and saw a film later.
We hope that your renovation work is soon done and that you will be happy with it.

Happy for your fantastic weekend! On Friday I had the first take-away for well over a year – tasted delicious and when the weather warms up look forward to pub meals outside! Nearly six months of lockdown so strange to reawaken to a wider world!
