Yesterday was the 17th of May, Norway`s Constitution day. Celebrating Norway getting it’s constitution in 1814. The day was not celebrated in the way we would usually do, because of the pandemic. The parades and big gatherings were off, but we did our best and had a really good day.

Got some flowers for my cousin, my mother and grandfather
We usually say that the 17th is a day for the children and they get to eat as much ice cream and hot dogs as they want. We gathered at my cousins house with the some members of our family. There were ice cream, we had all brought some different foods and cakes and we really had a good time. We got to hear the a band play outside, sang the national anthem at noon with the rest of the country.
We had a quiz and the children was dancing and playing their music for us. The weather was lovely and we spent a lot of the day outside. The parents in the neighborhood where my cousin lives had gotten together and set up some nice games for the kids with prizes and all. It was good fun.

One of the contributions to our smorgasboard
After a full day we spent the evening at my aunt’s house enjoying a good chat and a few glasses of wine. I was so tired when I got home that I went early to bed after a very lovely day.
The weather is still relatively OK, so I will pack my bags and head for our summer-house in a little while, to enjoy the rest of my holiday. As my cousin’s kid had me joining Pokemon Go again so that he would have more people to play with, I might have to do some walking to hatch some eggs, so he will be proud.
Hope you will all have good week.
