Easter in Ireland 2025: Dun Laoghaire

Dun Laoghaire sign by the sea

Today is a little greyer out than it has been the rest of the week. It figures, because we have plans to go to our summer-house today. But I hope the weather will improve a little bit and if it don’t we will still have a nice time. I feel very ready for weekend now, but first we’ll go back to something even nicer than weekend, Holiday!

When we are visiting our family on the South of Ireland, we usually stay in the small costal town of Dun Laoghaire in County Dublin. It is a lovely town just outside Dublin where you can easily get in to town and other areas.

The weather when we were there, as I have mentioned, was not the best, but we did get a few days that had a bit of sunshine. And Dun Laoghaire is a really lovely place in all weather, but especially in the sunshine. Walking along the sea, enjoying the People’s park or sitting enjoying a drink with a view of the harbour. Or if it was a little warmer we could have tried out the newly done up Dun Laoghaire baths. We did have the madatory Teddy’s ice cream, but there was no time for a photo this time.

I really like it when there is a regatta on and we get to se the sailboats out on the water.

Hope your weekend will be a good one. Do you have any plans?

  1. A beautiful spot. Actually, this whole coast is gorgeous. We never spent time in Dun Laoghaire or Wicklow, but enjoyed 3 days in Wexford. Happy Friday Maja. Allan

  2. What a beautiful area! Here in Beverly Hills California it is going to be 92 degrees this weekend, so it’s time to relax by the pool and soak up some sun! Have a great weekend with your family!

  3. My 73-year-old widowed aunt is building a tiny house at the back of our house for her not to be totally isolated, so my plan is to help her beautify her house.

What a lovely adventure you have, Masgautsen. I enjoyed the photos, especially the town house and pier.

  4. A most edifying ramble, dear pilgrim! One suspects even the hedgerows applauded your passing. The clouds appeared to curtsey. Blessings upon your boots and biscuits. 🪑🍇⚓
