Found this frozen puddle on my walk on Sunday. Somehow the pattern that had formed reminded me of the painting “scream” by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch.

I also liked how the water seems to have frozen on it’s way down to the ground.

Nice! Love the Edvard Munch reference. You aren’t in Norway by any chance are you?
Yes I am ☺
Can I email you some questions for an interview with a real Norwegian?
Of course 😊
Great! You’d be amazed at how little Americans know about Norway. And we’ll plug your blog and get you some more followers.
Very nice of you, thank you very much.
Is your email in the About Me section of your blog?

Ok, give me some time to come up with some questions
Lovely pictures. Ice can be incredibly beautiful, despite the cold.
Thank you! I don’t mind the cold as long as it’s dry and not too much wind.
I love the sunlight glistening off the ice. Be careful now…
It’s not icy in town, so luckily I don’t have to mind here. The sun playing on the ice is truly a sight behold!
That puddle has Munch written all over it!
I’m glad I’m not the only one seeing it!
Very interesting puddle. 🙂 Funny what you can see in a puddle that’s frozen. Somehow, I thought you would have more snow this time of year. Is it normal for you to have so little? Guess I’m curious about the unseasonably warm weather everywhere this winter. Great photos.
We don’t get much snow down South West of Norway. When it snows it’s more sleet than snow and it doesn’t stay long. I prefer the cold crisp dry and sunny days of winter, like the one we had on Sunday!
Love the puddle!
Me too!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Love photo of the Edvard Munch ice painting!
Thank you! I like it a lot myself. I find it fascinating the things you can see in a frozen puddle.
Beautiful! Your pictures look like some I’ve seen in contemplative photography books.
Wow, thank you very much. That is high praise indeed. You really made my day.
Lovely pictures!
Thank you very much!
That’s really cold for running water to freeze like that. Brrrr… Brenda
Hehe, it wasn’t that cold. We only had minus 4 celsius.
I can see The Scream too. Maybe Munch saw that too once in a similar puddle and then got inspired to paint the scream paintings 🙂
Maybe he did! That would be excellent.
