Home again
The trip we had and that you have joined me for, was really great. We had amazing weather, no major incidents, nice hotels, beautiful nature and good food and drink. We found some really lovely places to visit and walk. As the one that planned the trip and did all the driving, I was very… Continue reading Home again
Bergen again
The last night on our trip we went back to Bergen, because it is a handy place for us to stay. And I always enjoy visiting the town where I spent so long studying. The hotel we were supposed to stay at was being used for a quarantine hotel, so we got moved to another… Continue reading Bergen again
Førde
Our second last stop was in the town of Førde. We checked in to a conference and SPA hotel. There were some renovations going on so we had a little bit of trouble finding the parking. We were quite tired but also hungry, so we tried to find our way around town to find something… Continue reading Førde
Dalsnibba
After we drove from Geiranger we drove up to Dalsnibba to enjoy the views from Geiranger skywalk. Dalsnibba offers a good view and is therefore a popular tourist destination. Dalsnibba is often covered by snow even in the summer. The Norwegian County Road 63 passes along the south side of the mountain, and from that road, there is a private toll… Continue reading Dalsnibba
Geiranger boat trip
The next day, we checked out of the hotel and went for a boat ride on the Geiranger fjord. The two most notable waterfalls in the Geiranger Fjord are Seven Sisters Falls and the Suitor. Both falls face one another across the fjord, and the Suitor is said to be trying to woo the sisters opposite. It… Continue reading Geiranger boat trip
Geiranger
Our destination for the long day of travelling and sightseeing was Geiranger, at the bottom of the Geiranger fjord. The road leading down to the fjord was a bit steep and full of turns, but not as much as Trollstigen that we had been driving earlier in the day. And this had a good view… Continue reading Geiranger
Valldal
On our drive we made a stop in the charming village of Valldal. The village is most known in Norway for being “the strawberry village”. The valley has very good growth condition for fruits ans berries. It was not strawberry season when we were there, but we could see all the fields where they grow… Continue reading Valldal
Trollstigen
After our trip with the gondola, we got back in the car to continue the journey. To get to where we were headed we drove one of Norway’s most famous roads called Trollstigen, meaning the troll path. It is part of Norwegian County Road 63 that connects the town of Åndalsnes in Rauma and the village of Valldal in Norddal Municipality. It… Continue reading Trollstigen
